Outline:
Discussion of how to safely provide comprehensive care for patients during their cancer journey and beyond. With improvements in cancer therapeutics, we have more cancer survivors that require our support. We will focus on how dental professionals can save lives and improve the quality of life of patients while undergoing their cancer journey.
About The Speaker
Dr. Suzanne Carlisle is the current department head of oral oncology-dentistry at BC Cancer Surrey and Abbotsford. She is a general dentist who has been honored with several teaching awards from UBC Faculty of Dentistry. She provides clinical supervision for the UBC/VGH residency program every year. This year, she will be opening the new oral oncology/dentistry clinic at BC Cancer Abbotsford in order to help patients obtain care closer to their homes. Within the cancer agency, Dr. Carlisle provides yearly educational opportunities for the Family Practice Oncology Network to educate medical colleague regarding the oral needs of cancer patients. Currently, she is completing her BEACON Leadership Program training through PHSA.
