Outline:
This lecture will address most common mucogingival problems and periodontal procedures used to address hard and soft tissue defects around natural teeth include gingival augmentation, frenectomy, crown lengthening, and ridge augmentation.? The format will be lecture and illustrated via case presentations.? These principles will also be presented with respect to dental implant applications.
Course Objectives:
- Periodontal conditions affecting natural teeth include mucogingival deformities such as recession, inadequate keratinized gingiva, aberrant frenum.
- Concepts and indications for corrective soft tissue surgical procedures including gingival grafting, root coverage and frenectomy will be presented and illustrated via case examples.
- Indications and principles of corrective hard tissue surgical procedures including clinical crown lengthening and ridge augmentation techniques post-extraction will be presented and illustrated through clinical case presentations.

About The Speaker
Dr. Kevin R. Suzuki graduated with his D.M.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He completed his residency in Periodontics and Oral Implantology and Masters of Science at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Suzuki is a graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute. He also lectures and serves as a faculty instructor for the Institute of Dental Advancement (Dallas, TX) and the Resnik Implant Institute. Dr. Suzuki holds faculty positions at Temple University Graduate Periodontics and University of Washington School of Dentistry. He currently practices Periodontology and Oral Implantology in Seattle, WA.
Dr. Suzuki is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is past president of the Washington State Society of Periodontists and Washington representative of the Western Society of Periodontology. Dr. Suzuki is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, American College of Dentists, and International College of Dentists Honor societies. He is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Suzuki has lectured for Local, State, and National Meetings since 2010.
