About The Speakers

Dr. Anita Gartner , BCDA President, is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has contributed to pediatric dental research at the University of Washington, focusing on child development and techniques to alleviate pain and anxiety in children. Dr. Gartner is also deeply committed to volunteerism, applying her expertise to serve community health needs. 

Mr. Quinn Mathiesen-Newcomb, is the CEO of the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA). Prior to joining the BCDA, he served as a Senior Executive with Genome BC, a catalyst of genomics research and innovation to grow BC’s life sciences sector. An advocate for advancing health care solutions, Quinn has a broad range of professional experience working with all levels of government, diverse industries, and leading initiatives in complex regulatory environments. He has a passion for championing innovation, creating high-performing teams, and driving multisectoral partnerships that bring strategies to life.
