This presentation focuses on treatment planning and staging for routine restorative procedures, highlighting the practical application of foundational concepts to enhance restorative outcomes—from simple direct restorations to complex rehabilitations.
We will explore key considerations, including facial references, that are essential for developing a comprehensive treatment plan. Functional parameters such as vertical dimension and occlusion will be reviewed, emphasizing their role in various clinical scenarios. The presentation will conclude by integrating aesthetics and function, with a focus on the crucial details that significantly influence the final result.
Course objectives:
After this course participants will be able to:
- Treatment plan direct and indirect anterior restorations with functional and aesthetic predictability.
- Understand different factors that will influence preparation design and material selection for direct and indirect restorative procedures.
- Systematically identify challenges and solutions in order to achieve highly aesthetic restorations that will last.
About The Speaker
Dr. Jose Viquez graduated in 2010 from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica as a general dentist. He joined his father in private practice briefly before moving to the U.S. to further his education in prosthodontics. In 2013, he received a certificate in advanced prosthodontics after completing a three-year residency program at Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Dentistry and a fellowship in oral surgery.
Dr. Viquez is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and completed implant surgical training at the Misch International Institute. Dr. Viquez is actively involved in several local study clubs and is passionate about sharing his knowledge through both national and international educational opportunities. In addition to his practice, Dr. Viquez serves as a part-time instructor at the Gerald Niznick School of Dentistry, where he contributes to both the undergraduate clinic and the graduate prosthodontics program. Dr. Viquez is currently in private practice in Winnipeg at the Southwest Specialty Group.
