About The Speakers

Mr. Shaun East – Leveraging 41 years of experience in the banking industry, Shaun East helps expertly guide dental practice owners through the process of selling a practice – and successfully transitioning into the next phase of their life or career.

Shaun joined Heaps & Doyle following his retirement from Scotiabank, where he spent his last five years leading the national Healthcare and Professional Banking team. While in this role, Shaun formed close working relationships with several clients in the dental community – and developed an interest in helping professionals navigate major career transitions. Clients benefit from Shaun’s understanding of the dental and financial worlds.

Hall Murdoch, CPA, CA, is a Partner with MNP’s Professional Services team in Calgary. Working closely with medical and dental professionals, Hall provides valuable advice to help clients reach their business and personal goals.

Hall’s experience in forecasting, tax planning and other key areas help ensure that his clients have a sound strategy for the future. He specializes in developing customized plans for clients interested in starting or purchasing their own practice.

Hall also advises owner-managers on how to operate their businesses as efficiently and effectively as possible. Through performance management, industry benchmarking, tax planning and other key tools, he helps his clients measure their business performance and enhance profitability. Hall is dedicated to providing his clients with information that empowers them to make informed business decisions. He has given presentations to medical and dental groups throughout Alberta on various key issue areas such as incorporation, Canadian tax updates, corporate investment strategies, GST, fraud and practice transition.

Hall earned his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation from the Alberta Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2008. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 2005.

Mr. Patrick Madaisky graduated from the UBC Faculty of Law, and has been practising since 1989.  Pat has experience working in both large and small firms.

In 2000, Pat established his own firm, Madaisky & Company.  His unique approach to serving clients, and his practical, in-depth understanding of law and business matters, have provided the foundation upon which the firm has grown.
