Zirconia and Lithium Disilicate restorations are quickly occupying a greater piece of the Dental marketplace.  With increasing prescription of these fixed restoratives, laboratory professionals are having to adapt to non-conventional techniques.  This presentation will provide the participants with an appreciation for the advantages of a fully digital workflow and discuss the proper laboratory treatment and techniques for these products.

Course Goals:

  • Understanding the differences between Zirconia and Lithium Disilicate
  • Appreciate the ideal intraoral applications for each
  • Preparation and Minimum thickness parameters for Zirconia and Lithium Disilicate
  • Advantages and Limitations of full contour restorations
  • Assessing framework design for porcelain fused to Zirconia/Lithium Disilicate
  • Appropriate uses for porcelain fused to Zirconia/Lithium Disilicate
  • Advantages of using a fully digital workflow
  • Elevating treatment outcomes with enhanced communication with prescribing Dentists
  • Appropriate pre-cementation treatment and chairside cementation techniques for these products


After completing a Bachelors of Science, Dr. Mollot obtained his D.M.D. degree from the University of Manitoba in 1997.

He has served the profession both locally and nationally including as a clinical instructor at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry, on multiple provincial committees and is an NDEB examiner.  He was awarded a Certificate of Merit for service in 2001 for work on both the Ethics and Dental Materials and Devices advisories for the Canadian Dental Association in Ottawa.

Dr. Mollot maintains a full time private practise at the Tuxedo Dental Group in Winnipeg offering all aspects of dentistry with a particular interest in Implant and Fixed Prosthetic Dentistry.  Having an on-site laboratory allows him increased hands-on involvement for prosthetically or esthetically complex cases.

Dr. Mollot is a graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.  He is a member of the Winnipeg Progressive Dental Study Club(Seattle Study Club), and the Winnipeg Dental Society, among others. In 2005 he became a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
