Dr. Kaukinen and his lab staff will present a hand-on workshop demonstrating techniques for immediate implant placement, impressions, and temporization. The workshop will allow participants to more efficiently restore single implants.
Biography
Dr. Jamie Kaukinen is a certified specialist in prosthodontics in the Province of British Columbia. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1990. Dr. Kaukinen received his specialty training and Master of Science degree in prosthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1993. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD) and maintains a prosthodontic specialty practice in Victoria, where his scope of practice includes, fixed, removable and maxillofacial prosthodontics, implants and cosmetic dentistry as well as the management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Dr. Kaukinen is the maxillofacial and prosthodontic consultant to the Greater Victoria Hospital Society and the British Columbia Cancer Agency. He is Past President of the Victoria and District Dental Society and the mentor of three study clubs where he lectures to dentists throughout British Columbia. Dr. Kaukinen lectures frequently on Prosthodontics throughout British Columbia, Canada and the United States. Dr. Kaukinen holds membership in the following professional associations: Canadian Dental Association, College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Association of Prosthodontics of Canada, British Columbia Society of Prosthodontics, American College of Prosthodontics, Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontics, Academy of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Kaukinen has been very involved in providing fellow dentists with continuing education and courses on new products, techniques and scientific education. Since establishing his practice in Victoria, BC in 1993, he has given over 50 lectures, presentations, and hands-on clinics to dentists in BC, Canada, and in the United States. Dr. Kaukinen mentors/teaches three study club groups to over 50 dentists and provide them with continuing education in a small group/individualized and usually a hands-on basis.
