If your goal is to improve periodontal clinical outcomes for your patients and reduce stress on your body – this course is for you!  The unique characteristics of left and right curved ultrasonic inserts can offer superior access in furcations, concavities and curved root surfaces. Teeth are NOT Straight.  This fast-paced workshop combines current scientific information and cutting-edge teaching methods with active ultrasonic equipment to focus on biofilm assault, aerosol reduction and ergonomics through the most challenging anatomical situations.  Reach clinical end-point with ultrasonics and build on your current ultrasonic knowledge – Shape Matters!

  • Understand the relationship between ultrasonic technology, biofilm reduction and oral health.
  • Demonstrate the most effective principles of ultrasonic instrumentation, incl power and stroke.
  • Select the appropriate curved insert to sequence effective periodontal debridement.
  • Demonstrate effective adaptation and activation in furcations, concavities and curved root surfaces.
  • Demonstrate sound ergonomic principles while utilizing High Volume Evacuation.

Cheri Wu holds a BDSc(DH)  from the University of British Columbia and is a registered dental hygienist with 27 years dedicated to clinical practice and education, including 10 years in non-profit dental care.    In 2011, Cheri opened her own independent dental hygiene clinic in Victoria, B.C. – ‘Focus On Dental Hygiene’ and holds a faculty position with Camosun College.  In partnership with DENTSPLY SIRONA, Cheri presents scientific, evidenced-based information and hands-on education for ultrasonic instrumentation and air polishing.  Her accomplishments include the UBC 2003 Gold Medal for academic excellence, the 2012 Camosun College Distinguished Alumni Award and the 2014 Barbara Heisterman Award for Innovation and Commitment to Care.
