“I Want Teeth and I Want Them NOW!” Evolution in Immediate Implant Placement and Immediate Loading

Friday October 25, 2019 – 1:30pm to 4:30pm

* It is a pre-requisite for those attending the hands on session on Immediate Implants.* The presentation is designed to capture the attention and have an impact on all attendants, dentists and non-dentists alike.

The terms “immediate placement” and “immediate loading” have become commonplace in our profession. Patients are bombarded by social media and online content urging them toward the deliverance of treatment in “the NOW”.

The reality is that current concepts and contemporary technological advancements in the world of implant dentistry, allows the dental professional to comfortably contemplate the concept of “immediacy” in the every day dental working place.

Our patients wish to have their final “product” delivered “yesterday” and we are actually in the position to consider it as one of our options.

As with all treatments in our discipline, there are risks and there are benefits. Balancing between these with predictable success is possible. This lecture focuses on the evidence available to us that will allow every dentist to identify those patients that may benefit from a speedy delivery of treatment and potentially feel comfortable in using the current knowhow to offer it.

It will also provide the participant with the knowledge required to identify the pitfalls in such cases and the true risk factors that would preclude someone from success.

There is a continuing evolution in the world of immediate implant dentistry with new implant designs and upgraded digital workflow that has taken our industry by storm and we all need to be informed, knowledgeable and skilled in order to become successful participants in it.

At the end of this seminar participants should be able to:

  • Identify risks and benefits in various scenarios of potential immediacy patients
  • Recognize and manage immediate implant placement cases in fresh extraction sockets
  • Understand the basic concepts of immediate loading
  • Discuss with their patients the options, expectations & limitations of attempting immediate loading
  • Feel confident with the use of computer generated surgical guides in their surgical cases
